Attack Options
Dice - This is the number of dice the attacker will roll. In the WOW Minis game 10 sided dice are used.
Hit on X or greater - Normally a die roll of 4 or more is considered a hit while less than 4 is considered a miss. Some abilities in the game can change this however.
Crit Effect - Most attacks have a critical effect that activates if one or more of the dice come up 10 (The crit effect only happens once even if more than one 10 is rolled). One of the most common effects is +1 damage and this can be factored into the damage probabilities.
Crit on X or greater - Normally only a 10 can cause a crit but there are some abilities that change this to 9 or greater.
On Hill - If the attacker is on a hill he has the option to reroll 1 die.
If on hill reroll 1 die if all hits but no crit - This option has no effect if On Hill is unchecked. Obviously if the attacker gets any misses he will reroll one of them and if all hit and he gets a crit there is no reason to reroll. The case where all the dice hit but none of them are a crit is not obvious however. In some cases rerolling one die to try to get a crit may be the best play.
Defense Options
Dice - This is the number of dice the defender will roll.
Defend on X or greater - Normally a die roll of 4 or more is considered a block (prevents 1 point of damage) while less than 4 is considered a miss. Some abilities in the game can change this however.
In Forest - If the defender is in a forest he has the option to reroll 1 die.
Calculate Probabilities
This button produces a combat report with the probabilities of getting a Crit and doing any amount of damage that can be done by this attack. See Combat Report below.
Roll the Dice
This button simulates rolling the dice with computer generated random numbers. See Roll Report below.
Combat Report
The first part of the report is a summery of the options selected.
Crit Chance - The probability that this attack will activate the crit effect.
Damage table columns are:
Damage - The amount of damage done to the defender.
Equal - The probability that exactly the amount of damage from the Damage column will be done to the defender.
Equal or Greater - The probability that the damage from the Damage column or more will be done to the defender. In other words if you want to know the chance of doing 3 or more damage on an attack look at this column and the row with 3 in the Damage column.
Roll Report
The first part of the report is a summery of the options selected.
Hits – The hits produced by the attack dice and crit information.
Blocks – The blocks produced by the defense dice.
Damage – The total damage done by this attack.
Attack Rolls – The details of each attack die roll including reroll information.
Defense Rolls – The details of each defense die roll including reroll information.
